Job Description
Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and engaging Faculty Member in Pharmacology to join the General Medicine Program. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching in pharmacology, supporting student development, and contributing to research and academic excellence in line with accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Academic Delivery
- Deliver Pharmacology lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions to medical students
- Cover core areas including:
- General Pharmacology (pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics)
- Systemic Pharmacology
- Clinical Pharmacology and therapeutics
- General Pharmacology (pharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics)
- Integrate pharmacology teaching with clinical case-based learning (CBL/PBL)
- Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
- Prepare and administer assessments (e.g., ExamSoft)
- Maintain accurate academic records (attendance, grades, reports)
Student Support & Academic Development
- Provide academic advising and mentoring
- Support students in understanding drug mechanisms, interactions, and clinical applications
- Monitor performance and provide timely feedback
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Conduct and publish research in pharmacology or related biomedical fields
- Participate in academic conferences and research initiatives
- Contribute to the institution’s research culture
Academic Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation standards (e.g., NCAAA)
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
- Prepare course and program reports
Collaboration & Engagement
- Participate in departmental meetings and academic committees
- Collaborate with clinical faculty for integrated teaching
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Pharmacology or related biomedical field
- MBBS with specialization in Pharmacology is preferred
- Experience teaching Pharmacology in a medical or health sciences program
- Strong understanding of clinical applications of pharmacology
- Familiarity with integrated curriculum and modern teaching approaches
- Experience with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
