JOB DESCRIPTION
To provide expert-level diagnosis, medical treatment, and surgical management of conditions affecting the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck in both adult and pediatric populations. The Consultant ENT will ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, and clinical outcomes in line with SEHA’s mission and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and manage a wide range of ENT disorders including hearing loss, sinusitis, nasal obstruction, tonsillitis, sleep apnea, vertigo, voice disorders, and head and neck tumors.
Perform outpatient assessments and surgical procedures such as endoscopic sinus surgery, tonsillectomy, tympanoplasty, septoplasty, neck dissection, and microlaryngoscopy.
Lead operative and perioperative care for ENT patients, ensuring optimal recovery and complication management.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including audiology, speech therapy, oncology, pediatrics, and internal medicine for holistic patient care.
Supervise junior doctors, residents, and surgical staff; contribute to training and continuing education programs.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of clinical notes, surgical procedures, and follow-up plans using SEHA’s electronic health record systems.
Participate in clinical audits, research, morbidity and mortality reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Adhere to SEHA and DOH standards for infection control, patient safety, ethics, and informed consent practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Residency in Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery from a recognized training program.
Board Certification in ENT / Otolaryngology (e.g., American Board, FRCS, Arab Board, or equivalent).
Valid DOH Consultant License in Otolaryngology or eligibility to obtain it.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of post-certification experience as a Consultant ENT Surgeon.
Experience in both adult and pediatric ENT is highly desirable.
