Job Purpose / Objective :

Provide specialist nutritional care to In- Patients through the process of assessment, planning, implementation, education, counseling or monitoring under the Direction and supervision of the Head of Clinical Nutrition. Assist and participates in the development of protocols and education materials related to Clinical Nutrition. Scientifically plan and calculate all therapeutic diet for in/out patients. 

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities  :

• Perform nutritional assessment and reassessments of patients as needed.
• Develop Nutritional Care Plan.
• Highlight “Food – Drug interaction” to physician and Document this in the medical record.
• Make recommendations related to patient dietary needs.
• Follow-up with the patient care team when an abnormally recognized during screening.
• NPO Monitoring.
• Adhere to Quality and infection guidelines.
• Approve all menus including any modified diets.
• Submit reports to the Chief Clinical Nutrition providing recommendations for better service.
• Follow all hospital related policies and procedures.
• Review and update the diet manual.
• Support the education program and promote the Patient and Family Rights along with providing patient and family education.
• Inspect food service department and ensures regular and modified / therapeutic diets are being accurately served and CBAHI standards are followed by food service employees as per policies and procedures.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
• Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities

Requirements

Education/ Professional Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition or Nutrition and Dietetic.

Experience:

• Two (2) years’ experience in planning regular and therapeutic diets in an accredited hospital of 200 beds or more.

Professional Licensing / Certification / Training:

• Certification: Relevant certification
• Licensing : Saudi Health Council Specialist
