Since its inception in 2010, National Reference Laboratory (NRL) has expanded from a single standalone reference laboratory to a network of 12 state-of-the-art facilities across the United Arab Emirates. NRL provides world-class diagnostic services to the M42 network and partners with more than 250 clients from a wide range of market segments, including private and government hospitals, medical centers and clinics, corporate organizations, and other reference laboratories.
NRL is seeking a highly experienced Consultant Hematopathologist to provide expert diagnostic services across a wide spectrum of hematological and lymphoid disorders. The role involves delivering accurate, timely, and clinically relevant pathology interpretations while contributing to quality assurance, multidisciplinary collaboration, and service excellence in a reference laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Interpret and report complex hematopathology cases, including bone marrow biopsies, lymph node pathology, and peripheral blood disorders.
- Integrate morphology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular findings into comprehensive diagnostic reports.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and provide consultative support to clinicians.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, teaching, and mentoring of junior staff as required.
- Support the development and standardization of diagnostic protocols in line with international best practices.
Qualifications
- Medical degree with recognized specialist certification in Hematopathology (e.g., CCT/CCST, American Board, or equivalent Tier 1 qualification).
- Eligibility for licensure with relevant UAE health authorities.
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ post-specialization experience in hematopathology, preferably within a tertiary or reference laboratory environment.
- Strong expertise in advanced diagnostic techniques, including flow cytometry and molecular hematopathology.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
