Danat Al Emarat Hospital is a leading specialty hospital dedicated to women’s and children’s healthcare in Abu Dhabi. The hospital provides advanced services in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Women’s Health, Fetal Medicine, and Neonatal Intensive Care. The Manager, Clinical Education is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of clinical education and professional development programs across the hospital. The role partners closely with nursing, medical, and allied health leaders to develop a highly skilled workforce, ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, and foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and clinical excellence.
This position plays a critical role in supporting workforce readiness, competency management, clinical training programs, and professional development initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and healthcare quality.
Responsibilities
Clinical Education Strategy
- Develop and implement the hospital’s clinical education strategy aligned with organizational priorities and patient care goals.
- Lead the planning and delivery of clinical orientation, competency-based education, and continuing professional development programs.
- Identify learning needs through collaboration with nursing, medical, and allied health leaders.
Education Program Development
- Design and oversee evidence-based educational programs, workshops, simulations, and learning activities.
- Ensure educational content reflects current best practices, clinical guidelines, and emerging healthcare trends.
- Promote competency-based learning and lifelong professional development.
Quality, Accreditation & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Department of Health (DOH), nursing regulatory requirements, and international accreditation standards.
- Support hospital accreditation activities through education, competency validation, and staff readiness programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs through measurable outcomes and performance indicators.
Leadership & Workforce Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop clinical educators and education support staff.
- Support leadership development, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
- Collaborate with academic institutions and external stakeholders to strengthen training partnerships, student placements, internships, and residency programs.
Innovation & Professional Practice
- Drive innovation in clinical education through simulation, technology-enhanced learning, and evidence-based educational methodologies.
- Promote research, quality improvement, and professional practice advancement.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Midwifery.
- Current professional healthcare license (where applicable).
- Postgraduate qualification in Education, Healthcare Management, Nursing, Health Professions Education, Leadership, or a related field.
- Minimum 6 years of post-qualification clinical experience within an acute healthcare setting.
- Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in clinical education, professional development, nursing education, or workforce development.
- Experience developing curricula, learning pathways, competency frameworks, and assessment programs.
- Demonstrated experience supporting accreditation, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience within women’s health, paediatrics, neonatal services, or tertiary healthcare settings is highly desirable.
