Job Description

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications or specialized training in medical device management (e.g., Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician – CBET) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the proper functioning, calibration, and safety of all medical devices.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on hospital equipment.
  • Assist in the procurement, installation, and commissioning of new medical devices.
  • Provide technical support and training to clinical staff regarding device operation and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay updated on advances in biomedical technology and participate in continuous professional development.
  • Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs on medical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with hospital medical devices.
  • Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and equipment status.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs and procurement.
  • Assist in the validation and acceptance testing of new equipment.
  • Ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory standards before clinical use.
  • Participate in hospital safety committees and incident investigations related to medical devices.
