Job Description
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications or specialized training in medical device management (e.g., Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician – CBET) are preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure the proper functioning, calibration, and safety of all medical devices.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on hospital equipment.
- Assist in the procurement, installation, and commissioning of new medical devices.
- Provide technical support and training to clinical staff regarding device operation and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on advances in biomedical technology and participate in continuous professional development.
- Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs on medical equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with hospital medical devices.
- Maintain detailed logs of maintenance activities and equipment status.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs and procurement.
- Assist in the validation and acceptance testing of new equipment.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety and regulatory standards before clinical use.
- Participate in hospital safety committees and incident investigations related to medical devices.
