- Assists the Registered Nurse in planning, implementing and evaluating patient care.
- Is familiar with, and understands, the Severe Care Domains of DOH.
- Monitors the impact of nursing care and maintains ongoing communication with the Registered Nurse regarding the status of patients in their care.
- Demonstrates an understanding and utilization of Evidenced-Based Healthcare.
- Advocates in the best interest of the patient and family at all times.
- Provides education to the family regarding aspects of care as appropriate.
- Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians/therapists with procedures.
- Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
- Adheres to dress code; appearance is professional, neat and cleanMaintains patient confidentiality at all times.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
- Is responsible to maintain up to date clinical knowledge and self-directed ongoing education.
- Completes annual education requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements.
- Attends and participates in annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Actively participates in Performance Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
- Complies with all organizational policies.

Experience | 1 years minimum clinical experience plus 6 months recent experience with ventilated patients (i.e. extra 6 months adult ventilated patients for adult AN’s and extra 6 months pediatric ventilated patients for pediatric AN’s) | Long term care or rehabilitation experience |
Certification and Licensure | Current valid registration in country of training and/or country of last employmentEligible for DOH licensing | |
