This role is responsible for assisting anesthesiologists in providing care to patients preparing for and receiving

anesthesia including but not limited to patients assessment, administration of procedural sedation, patient

monitoring and recovery of patients who have received sedation/anesthesia in adherence with DOH/DHA and M42

policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with the

preparation of anesthesia procedures both preoperatively and postoperatively by maintaining anesthesia equipment,

cleaning, packaging, ordering, and inventorying of anesthesia supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and professional standards while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, identify risks, and contribute to operational efficiency and quality outcomes.Assist anesthesiologists during patient assessment, procedural sedation, anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and emergency interventions.
  • Prepare, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain anesthesia equipment and delivery systems before, during, and after procedures.
  • Manage anesthesia supplies and medications, including sterilization, inventory control, ordering, storage, and expiration monitoring.
  • Maintain equipment inventories, coordinate repairs and quality checks, and ensure safe return of equipment to service.
  • Deliver person-centered care by promoting trust, collaboration, compassionate communication, and individualized support for patients and families.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate in Anesthesia Technology from a nationally recognized institution (minimum 2-year program).
  • Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in anesthesia support services; 5 years preferred.
  • Valid DOH/DHA License (or eligibility) with current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia procedures, equipment, regulations, and current best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively in a multicultural healthcare environment;
  • Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
