Job Description
Capital Health is seeking a highly skilled Specialist ICU to provide advanced critical care and anesthesia-related support for critically ill patients. The role focuses on delivering safe, evidence-based patient care, supporting perioperative services, and managing complex cases in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.
💼 Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit
• Perform accurate clinical assessments, diagnosis, and management of complex and life-threatening conditions
• Support perioperative patient care in coordination with the anesthesia and surgical teams
• Monitor and manage patients requiring ventilatory support, hemodynamic monitoring, and life-sustaining therapies
• Provide airway management and emergency life support when required
• Conduct pre-procedure evaluations and assess patient risk in critical care settings
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals
• Decide on patient readiness for transfer, step-down care, or discharge from ICU
• Participate in ICU on-call schedules and shift duties
• Supervise and guide nurses, technicians, and other healthcare staff in the ICU
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families regarding condition, procedures, and care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation aligned with regulatory and insurance requirements
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support hospital accreditation standards (JCI)
• Apply critical thinking and cost-conscious practices in clinical decision-making
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, audits, grand rounds, and educational activities
• Contribute to the teaching and supervision of medical, nursing, and allied health trainees
• Ensure patient confidentiality, safety, and adherence to ethical and legal standards
🎓 Qualifications:
• Recognized primary medical degree from an accredited institution
• Diploma or Board Certification in Intensive Care Medicine, Anesthesiology, or related specialty
• Valid DOH / DHA / MOH License or Eligibility as Specialist
• Minimum 3 years of experience post-specialty certification in ICU or Critical Care
