Healthpoint is seeking a dedicated and skilled Specialist Ophthalmologist to join its multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive ophthalmic care across outpatient and surgical settings, with a strong focus on diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of eye conditions. The ideal candidate must hold a valid DOH license and possess strong operative skills with experience performing ophthalmic surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of ophthalmic conditions affecting the anterior and posterior segments of the eye.
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Perform ophthalmic surgical procedures in line with clinical privileges and expertise.
- Manage pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.
- Provide medical and surgical treatment for cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disorders, and other ophthalmic conditions, as applicable to scope of practice.
- Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment and imaging technologies to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Collaborate with optometrists, primary care physicians, and other specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing medical education activities.
- Adhere to DHA/DOH regulations, Healthpoint policies, and international best practices in patient care and safety.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completion of a recognized Ophthalmology residency program.
- Specialist qualification in Ophthalmology from a recognized institution.
- Valid DOH License/Eligibility as a Specialist Ophthalmologist.
- Proven experience in both medical and surgical ophthalmology.
- Strong operative skills with the ability to independently perform ophthalmic surgical procedures.
- Experience in cataract surgery is essential; additional subspecialty surgical expertise will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
