Job Objective
Responsible for leading and managing the organization’s safety program. The primary objective is to create a safe and compliant work environment by developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and initiatives. The Safety Manager ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, promotes a culture of safety, and works towards continuous improvement in occupational health and safety standards
Key responsibility
- Develop, implement, and manage the organization’s safety program.
- Provide strategic direction to ensure a proactive and comprehensive approach to safety.
- Stay current with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Ensure the organization’s compliance with all relevant safety standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Implement strategies to reduce the likelihood of accidents and injuries.
- Oversee the development and delivery of safety training programs for employees.
- Ensure that employees at all levels are knowledgeable about safety protocols.
- Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Coordinate and conduct drills to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities and worksites.
- Collaborate with teams to address identified safety concerns promptly.
- Communicate safety-related information to all levels of the organization.
- Prepare and present safety reports to senior management.
Academic Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
- Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s) or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional – CSP) may be preferred
Professional Experience Required
- Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in safety field.
- Experience in facilities safety is a must.
- Experience in SAP is a plus.
