Senior Risk Management Officer – (SEHA Kidney Care)

Job Description Responsible for proactive and reactive risk management activities across the organization; recommending organizational action to limit loss and liability of an organizational nature; monitoring risks to ensure facility-wide accreditation compliance with risk management standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff; planning, organizing and administering various functions and activities relating to environmental risk management; performing a variety of complex administrative and problem solving work with an emphasis on environmental risk management.

Responsibilities Ensuring development Providing on-call assistance for emergent/urgent environmental health and safety risk management issues to all facility staff as needed

Keeping abreast of significant economic, social and technical trends, and applicable laws, regulations and accreditation standards as they relate to environmental health and safety risk management, which may influence assigned functions/services and/or the facility

Developing workable and achievable goals as part of the departmental business plan

Ensuring the smooth working of the section Developing and implementing the risk management program within facility incorporating environmental risk

Developing and maintaining a comprehensive facility corporate risk register

Providing both basic and complex pro-active and re-active environmental health and safety risk management including risk identification, risk analysis, risk evaluation and risk treatment to minimize institutional risks and loss exposure

Identifying sources including but not limited to incident reports, near misses, accidents, adverse events, sentinel events and patient or other persons complaints within facility

Reporting

Preparing reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions

Managing a database to include loss trending, loss forecasting and data analysis

Utilizing various computer software packages to compose documents, reports, spreadsheets, or presentations involved in the database management process

Submitting monthly activity reports to the Manager highlighting all activities related to environmental health and safety risk management, achievements and areas of concern

Reviewing facility agreements and contracts as appropriate to reduce risk exposure

Reviewing, investigating and evaluating code and document pre-litigation occurrences and claims

Advising the senior management on extreme and high environmental health and safety risk identification and providing the required risk management reports

Managing relationships Providing in-service education on environmental health and safety risk management topics, both standard basic education and complex focused topics as needed and/or requested

Developing and maintaining a mutually successful relationship between team members and other individuals participating in the risk management process to facilitate smooth and constructive workflow

Representing the department on various relevant committees as required

Attending conferences, participating in training programs and passing on training to colleagues by formulating and implementing awareness programs as required

Qualifications Qualification :-

Required 4-6 years of relevant expeience

Desired Experience in a large healthcare facility
