Role Description The Senior Pharmacist is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations and ensuring safe, accurate dispensing of medications. This role includes reviewing and validating prescriptions, counseling patients on proper medication use, monitoring for potential drug interactions, and supporting adherence to treatment plans. The Senior Pharmacist supervises and mentors pharmacy staff, coordinates workflow, and helps maintain inventory levels, storage conditions, and regulatory compliance. The role also involves implementing quality and safety procedures, supporting health awareness initiatives, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide a high standard of patient care. Senior Pharmacists are expected to model excellent customer service, uphold professional ethics, and contribute to continuous improvement across the branch.
Qualifications
- Solid clinical pharmacy knowledge and experience in prescription review, medication dispensing, and patient counseling.
- Strong skills in supervision, team leadership, and staff mentoring in a high-volume pharmacy environment.
- Competence in inventory management, medication storage standards, and basic pharmaceutical supply chain procedures.
- Familiarity with pharmacy systems, documentation practices, and local regulatory and safety requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset and the ability to handle sensitive patient inquiries.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (or equivalent), valid pharmacist license/registration in Egypt, and prior experience in a senior or supervisory pharmacy role.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development; experience in training or coaching junior pharmacists is an advantage.
