Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.

A Radiology Technologist is a skilled healthcare professional responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Working closely with patients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, the Radiology Technologist utilizes advanced imaging equipment such as X-ray, CT, MRI, and fluoroscopy to produce high-quality images while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT, MRI, Mammogram and fluoroscopy, as per physician orders
  • Prepare and position patients correctly to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
  • Explain imaging procedures to patients, ensuring understanding and minimizing anxiety
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout all imaging procedures
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and apply ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring accurate functioning and reporting any faults or malfunctions
  • Review and assess image quality to ensure diagnostic standards are met before submission
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging procedures
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals for timely diagnosis and treatment
  • Adhere to infection control policies and maintain a clean and safe imaging environment
  • Assist in administering contrast media when required, following established protocols
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during or after imaging procedures
  • Stay updated with advancements in imaging technology and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements
  • Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the radiology department
  • Flexibility to work in shifts (Day/Night)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology, Medical Imaging, or a related field
  • Valid professional license/registration (e.g., DHA, DOH, MOH, or equivalent regulatory authority as applicable)
