Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plans and performs all general radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols
  • Records and reports shortage of materials and maintains records for ordering and replenishments
  • Performs other radiography (special) procedures as required
  • Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards images to the Radiologist for review and reporting
  • Maintains a clean and tidy working environment including restocking supplies for subsequent use and equipment cleaning
  • Provides advice to medical/technical staff on appropriate techniques and clinical staff on appropriate imagery interventions

Accountabilities

  • Performs diagnostic procedures.
  • Maintain skills in all areas of General Radiography as per the requirements of the facility

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience :-

Required:

  • NLT 2 years’ experience as radiographer in a multimodality site/facility including OR, trauma, etc. in an acute care hospital.

Educational Qualification: Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a Radiography, Radiology Technology, or Medical/Diagnostic Imaging program
  • Diploma in Radiology (minimum three (3) years course duration)
  • Associate degree in Radiography program (minimum two (2) years course duration)
  • And
  • Registration/certification or accreditation as a radiographer
  • AND Current national license.

Desired:

  • Master’s in Medical Imaging or relevant clinical Msc in related field. (will reduce 1 year from the required years of experience)
