Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development implementation for policies and procedures to Maintain optimal agency functioning.
- Oversee the qualityof services providedby staff
- Provide clinical services to trainees including initial consultation and Diagnosticassessment for traineeswith a wide range of mental health, Behavioral, emotional and developmental concerns.
- Provide crisis assessment and intervention includingassessment for safety
- Provide individual and cuples psychotherapy
- Provide educational programsand outreach addresscampus issues
- May administer, score and interpret psychological assessment instruments and complete assessment batteries
- Provide supervision to Graduate Assistant, practicum trainees andpsychology intens.
- Conducts psychiatric interviews and collects data for diagnostic purposes.
- Provides various psychotherapies, including individual, group and family therapies.
- Offers counseling for couples with marital conflicts.
- Uses behavioral methods for the treatment of children and adults and plans the frequency, intensity and duration of therapy.
- Performs psychometric (mentalmeasuring) testing for diagnosis and evaluation of therapy.
- Engages in research and educational activities that will improve methods and techniques for the management of emotionally disturbed patients.
- Keeps current with ideas in the fields of personality development and adjustment, diagnosis, treatmentand prevention of mental disorders to assist in the planning of mental health progress.
- Provides advice to community organizations and participates in related psychological and welfare activities.
- Takes after hours or weekend calls as required by specific cases or in emergency situations as requested.
- Participates in in-service teachingprograms for Nurses and Medical staff.
- Performs miscellaneous related duties as requested by the ChiefPsychiatrist.
- Maintains complete and accurate records of allassigned cases.
- Maintains competency of procedures and related tasks.
- Explain procedures to the patient and obtain relevantpatient history.
- Provide personalized coordinated care, support and treatment for patients and families.
- Treat peoplewith dignity, compassion, and respect.
- Involve patients, families and caregivers by providing them with education and resources for offering optimal support to promote recovery.
QUALIFICATION :
- Bachelor Degree in Clinical Psychology from a recognized college or university.
- Professional Experience: From 0- 2 years
SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
- Comprehensive knowledgeof medical clinicswith regard to the obligation to maintain work confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of intelligence, achievement, interest, personality and other psychological tests and measuring devices.
COMPETNCE:
- Ability to manage internaland external communication.
- Objective and subjective patientassessment.
- Patient education and patient consentif necessary.
