Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide prescribed medications, and other pharmaceuticals, compound medications
according to professional standards and practices. Advise/consult with patients, families,
medical and nursing staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1/ Review patient’s drug regimen on a concurrent basis and verify the physician’s original order for appropriateness prior to dispensing.
2/ Communicate any suggested changes to the prescribing physician.
3/ Prepare, check and dispense outpatient prescriptions issued by physicians.
4/ Prepare, package, dispense and deliver unit dose medication in accordance with standard procedures and techniques for hospitalized patients.
5/ Prepare drug formulations, strength, dosage forms, and packages that are useful in the care of patient and not available commercially but approved by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee.
6/ Maintain Confidentiality at all times.
7/ Perform any other duties that are within the scope of his/her skill necessary to the operation of the pharmacy department.
Qualifications;
- Bachelor Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
