Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Review prescriptions for completeness and appropriateness before dispensing medications.
Dispense prescribed medications accurately and according to applicable professional requirements.
Provide patients with clear instructions regarding the appropriate use and storage of medicines.
Answer medication-related questions within the pharmacist’s professional scope.
Identify potential medication-related issues and take appropriate professional action.
Maintain accurate prescription and dispensing records.
Ensure medicines are stored according to required conditions and manufacturer instructions.
Monitor medication stock levels and assist with inventory management.
Check medicine expiry regularly dates and follow procedures for expired or damaged products.
Receive pharmaceutical products and verify quantities, batch information, and expiry dates where applicable.
Maintain proper storage and organization of pharmaceutical products.
Follow applicable requirements for controlled or restricted medicines.
Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Follow infection-control, health, safety, and pharmacy procedures.
Coordinate with physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, suppliers, and authorized personnel when required.
Assist with stock ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
Keep professional knowledge current through required training and continuing professional development.
Perform other pharmacist duties within the authorized scope of practice.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or an equivalent recognized pharmacy qualification.
Previous experience as a Pharmacist is preferred.
Good knowledge of medicines, dosage forms, storage requirements, and pharmacy practices.
Understanding of prescription processing and medication safety.
Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Additional languages are an advantage.
Good computer and pharmacy-system skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Professional and patient-focused approach.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Good organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
