ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

• Monitor prescriptions to ensure there are no errors and that they are appropriate and safe for the individual patient.

• Provide advice on the dosage of medicines and the most appropriate form of medication, for example, tablet, injection, ointment, or inhaler.

• Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.

• Publish educational information for other pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and/or patients.

• Participate in rounds, taking patient drug histories, and being involved in decision-making on appropriate treatments.

• Ensure medicines are stored appropriately and securely.

• Check and document the medications at least monthly.

• Supervise the work of less experienced and less qualified staff.

• Actively tracking the latest advancements in research and development.

• Establish clear guidelines for drug use within the center and enforce center regulations effectively.

• Provide information on expenditure on drugs.

• Prepare and quality-check sterile medications, such as intravenous medications.

• Prepare necessary medications and supplies required for preparation and follow the prescribed guidelines to accurately measure and mix the medications, ensuring proper dosages and combinations. Maintain a clean workspace and follow safety protocols throughout the process.

• Double-check with another staff member for consistency and effectiveness of the medications.

• Educate USRC teammates and new pharmacists who will join USRC.

• Ensure High-alert medicines are labeled appropriately and securely.

• Ensure the crash cart medication box is sealed and refiled after use.

• Contribute actively to achieving clinical quality outcome indicators and enhancing patient satisfaction. Lead assigned unit-based Performance Improvement activities.

• Promote a safe environment and patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying risk areas to the nurse supervisor. Complies with policies of patient safety and for preventing healthcare-associated infections.

• Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships working towards the achievement of constant improvement in quality patient care. Acts as an advocate for patients and families. Using the professional practice framework, ideas that will improve the quality of patient care and issues that will negatively affect patient care outcomes are identified.

• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.

Experience Requirements:

One (1) year experience in a pharmacist role, preferably in a dialysis or hospital setting.

Other Requirements:

Current Registered Pharmacist Licensure from a country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health

Specialties Licensure is required.

Certified in BLS from Saudi or American Heart Association.
