DESCRIPTION

Within the limits of his/her written clinical privileges, to manage patients for whom he/she is responsible to the highest attainable standard of care within the resources in full compliance with

Dallah Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.

Within his or her clinical privileges, under the supervision of a consultant, participate in monitoring and care of patients (that is, compassionate, appropriate & effective), attending Pediatrics

Outpatient Clinics or presenting at the Emergency Room, admitted under the specialty, or referred for opinion and management.

Within his/her written clinical privileges, performs Pediatric diagnostic procedures in the various treatment areas on a routine or emergency basis.

Within his or her clinical privileges, responsible for investigating, diagnosing, and treating the health conditions of patients by using scientific evidence to improve patient care practices

Within his or her clinical privileges, responsible for prescribing and reviewing patients’ medication appropriately and in a timely.

Writing clinical notes (including assessment and care plans) in patients’ medical records as per the hospital policy.

Comply with appropriate blood or blood product use and antibiotic stewardship program as per hospital policy within his or her clinical privileges.

Demonstrates interpersonal & communication skills that establish & maintain professional relationships with patients, families, coworkers, & other members of the healthcare team.

Able to demonstrate both understanding of contexts and systems in which health care is provided and the ability to apply this knowledge to improve and optimize health care.

As per his or her privileges, able to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care practices.

Demonstrates commitment to continuous professional development, ethical practice, understanding & sensitivity to diversity & responsible attitude towards other staff and patients

Directs the resident staff in their duties and responsibilities.

Attends appropriate meetings of the medical staff as directed by the Head of Pediatrics.

Contributes to the departmental program of continuing medical education.

Implements appropriate policies and procedures to achieve the Hospital’s goals and objectives in pursuit of Standards of Care, Quality / Performance Improvement.

Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well-informed care decisions

Performs any other duties within the range of his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by the Head of Pediatrics.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential: Four (4) years in the specialty of Pediatrics, including neonatology and intensive care

Desirable: Experience in one or more Pediatric subspecialties, especially infectious diseases, hematology, or neurology.

Essential:

Basic medical degree.

MSc. or Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), or Arab Board, or American Board Certification, or equivalent in the specialty.

Desirable: Diploma in Neonatal or other Pediatric sub-specialties.
