Job Description
The Patient Journey Coordinator helps a patient turn a practitioner’s recommendation into a booked next step. You will be present in the clinic every day, talking with patients before and after their sessions, you will receive referrals from practitioners who would like a patient to hear more about their treatment plan or about another Joint Space service that could support them, and you will follow up with phone calls and messages to our community of patients.
This is a patient facing role with booking targets and commission, and it is fully part of the Joint Space team. You will learn how our practitioners think and speak about health, what each discipline and service offers, and what we stand for, so that a patient hears the same language from you as from their practitioner. Clinical decisions stay with the practitioner, and your part is making sure the patient understands the plan, knows their options and finds it easy to continue.
You will work to the same standards as the rest of our team, which means suggesting only the parts of Joint Space that would help the person in front of you, at a time that suits them, and leaving them free to decide at their own pace.
What you will do
Engage with patients and receive practitioner referrals. You will start conversations with patients in the clinic and take referrals from practitioners, helping patients understand the treatment plan their practitioner has set and showing them which other Joint Space services can support it.
Explain services, pricing and booking options. You will know every service we offer, what it costs and how it can be booked, and you will explain this clearly so that a patient can make a well informed choice.
Understand what is holding a patient back. When a patient hesitates to book, you will find out why, help with their practical questions and concerns, and share what you learn with practitioners so that they can address it in their own conversations with patients.
Coordinate with Reception and follow up. You will work closely with Reception so that every booking is completed, and you will follow up with patients who need more time to decide.
Track your work and reach your targets. You will record every referral, conversation and booking, review your numbers regularly and work towards agreed booking targets.
Your own patient journey
You will go through the Joint Space patient journey yourself, starting in your first weeks with us. You will have your own assessment, follow your own plan and use the services you will later be explaining, so that you speak to patients from your own experience of how each one feels and what it does for you. We ask you to keep looking after your health in this way for as long as you are in the role, because patients relate most easily to someone who is on the same journey as they are.
Requirements
Who we are looking for
You enjoy talking with people and you listen well, which lets you understand what a patient needs before you suggest anything. You are comfortable discussing prices and asking for a booking, and you hold yourself to targets while keeping the patient’s interest first.
You have experience in a patient facing or client facing role where you were responsible for bookings, memberships or sales, ideally in healthcare, wellbeing or hospitality. You are organised with records and follow ups, confident with booking and messaging software, and fluent in spoken and written English.
You care about your own health, you are curious about how different clinical disciplines work together for one patient, and you want to learn. We look for Competence, Care, Collaboration, Conviction and Coherence in everyone who joins Joint Space, with honesty underneath all five.
What we offer
This is a full time role of 48 hours a week, including one weekend day each week, based at Joint Space in Alserkal Avenue. The salary is 8,000 AED a month, with commission of up to 4,000 AED a month.
The team is small, so everyone notices what each person contributes, and the standards are high. Many of our patients stay with us for years, which means you will know the people you speak to for a long time. In return, you will be part of a team that keeps to its standards and protects your time and your development.
What happens after you apply
If your application suits the role, we will send you An Introduction to Joint Space, which takes about ten minutes to read, together with our Values and Fit Questionnaire, which takes about twenty minutes to complete. An interview follows, then a practical stage in the clinic where you meet the people you would work beside, and we tell you our decision whatever it is.
