Paediatric Interventional Radiology Consultant

Job Description

Role Summary

Provide specialized Pediatric Interventional Radiology services, performing advanced image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for neonates, infants, children, and adolescents within a tertiary care setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad range of pediatric interventional radiology procedures, including vascular access, biopsies, drainage procedures, embolization, and treatment of vascular malformations.
  • Provide expert consultations and recommendations for pediatric patients requiring minimally invasive image-guided interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with Pediatric Surgery, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, Intensive Care, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning discussions.
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety, quality standards, and evidence-based clinical practices.
  • Support teaching, training, and mentoring of residents, fellows, and junior medical staff.
  • Contribute to clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and research activities.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • MBBS/MD or equivalent.
  • Board Certification in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Fellowship in Pediatric Interventional Radiology (Mandatory).
  • Specialist/Consultant qualification recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
  • Education, residency, fellowship, and board certification from Tier 1 countries (USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand).

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years post-board experience as a Consultant Pediatric Interventional Radiologist.
  • Experience in a tertiary pediatric hospital, children’s hospital, or academic medical center.
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex pediatric vascular and non-vascular interventions.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Pediatric Center of Excellence.
  • Academic, teaching, and research experience.
  • Publications or involvement in Pediatric Interventional Radiology research.
