Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of occupational therapy services is to enhance an individual’s ability to participate in daily activities and achieve independence, while also providing a variety of medical services to help individuals recover or improve function after injury or illness. Occupational therapists evaluate clients of all ages who may face physical, emotional, or developmental challenges, devising customized rehabilitation and treatment plans aimed at developing, maintaining, and restoring maximum movement and functional ability, thus maximizing their quality of life across personal, social, and work-related tasks.
KEY Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ needs, strengths, and areas for improvement, focusing on physical, cognitive and emotional factors.
- Reviews the physician’s referral and evaluates the patient’s condition and medical records to determine the necessary occupational therapy treatment.
- Develops personalized treatment plans that align with clients’ goals and lifestyles, promoting their aspirations for independence.
- Implements various therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, coordination, and overall functional abilities through real-life activities.
- Educates clients and their families on effective strategies, adaptive equipment, and modifications to improve daily activity participation.
- Regularly monitors and adjusts treatment plans based on clients’ progress, ensuring interventions remain relevant and effective.
- Helps patients regain or develop skills for everyday tasks, including self-care, work-related functions, and leisure activities.
- Focuses on enhancing patients’ functionality by addressing specific physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges in various environments.
- Supports patients’ rehabilitation from injuries or illnesses through targeted interventions and exercises to aid recovery and skill development.
- Assesses and recommends modifications or assistive devices to improve accessibility and encourage meaningful engagement in activities.
- Maintains accurate records of treatments, patient responses, and progress, while providing guidance for home care and ensuring effective communication with other healthcare providers.
- Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned, consistent with the requirements of the position and the scope of practice for an Occupational Therapist.
- Exhibits compassionate communication skills in delivering support and care to patients, as our approach prioritizes the patient as the central focus of care.
Other Qualification :
Experience: 3-5 years and Experience in Occupational Therapy.
Education: BS degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution, with a required clinical internship for registration. Current license to practice Occupational Therapy required.
Language: Good command of oral and written English knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable.
Licenses / Certifications: DHA Licensed / DHA Eligibility Letter is a MUST.
