What You’ll Do
As a Medical Underwriter at TruDoc, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring fair, accurate, and data-driven underwriting decisions for healthcare plans and wellness programs. Your work will directly support our mission to make healthcare more accessible, affordable, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
Review and assess medical reports, case histories, diagnostics, and lab results to inform underwriting outcomes.
Collaborate with clinical teams, actuaries, and claims professionals to evaluate medical risks and define policy terms.
Apply and interpret underwriting protocols in alignment with TruDoc’s standards and global compliance frameworks.
Deliver detailed risk assessments and recommendations for group and individual healthcare plans.
Stay ahead of the curve on evolving medical trends, innovations, and potential health risk factors.
Maintain meticulous documentation of assessments, decisions, and communications.
Participate in regular case reviews and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Support pre-authorization reviews, claims evaluations, and eligibility for wellness and preventive care programs.
Minimum Requirements
What We’re Looking For
A degree in science.
2–5 years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare administration, or underwriting.
Strong analytical acumen and confident decision-making skills.
Knowledge of insurance frameworks, healthcare delivery systems, and medical coding.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Proficiency with medical data systems and digital tools.
