Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the overall activities and functions of Patient Access and Eligibility section and ensures high-quality services provided to patients.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Plans, organizes and manages the daily activities of Patient Access and Eligibility.
2. Researches and handles special and/or non-routine eligibility cases; reviews and initials daily discharges.
3. Monitors all procedures related to the approved referrals from Hospital subsystems and outside organizations.
4. Assists in solving patient’s problems/complaints; meets with patients and listens to their problems in order to help/assists them as related to Patient Access and Eligibility.
5. Coordinates with Ministry of Health (MOH) and other hospitals in regards to patient acceptance or discharge.
6. Maintains and develops policies and procedures related to the Section operations, Hospital’s systems, and subsystems; ensures staff compliance with policies and procedures.
7. Analyses productivity, utilization of facilities, equipment, staffing and quality of work of Patient Access and Eligibility; implements quality assurance programs in coordination with Quality Management.
8. Maintains liaison with concerned departments to resolve problems. Develops a management information system related to the interdepartmental and intradepartmental flow of information.
9. Ensures adequate staffing; evaluates and counsels employees regarding performance; trains and orients new employees.
10. Conducts short/long range planning for Section; prepares and monitors Section budget and expenditures; recommends employment, promotion and release of personnel.
11. Follows all Hospital related Policies and Procedures.
12. Participates in self and others’ education, training and development, as applicable.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned. APPROVED
Job Requirements:
Education:
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Health, or other related discipline is required.
Experience Required:
Five (5) years of related experience including two (2) years in a seniority position with master’s or seven (7) years with bachelor’s degree of similar requirements is required.
