Job Description
Responsible for performing a variety of interpretation, translation, and medical escort services to assist non – English speaking Arab patients receiving care.
Responsibilities
• Performs a variety of interpretation and translation services to assist non-English speaking Arab patients.
• Relay instructions and other medical information accurately to patients and their families, and make sure they understand.
• Assists non-English speaking patients with cross-cultural orientation to understand the nuances of medical care systems.
• Provides verbal and written communication between health care providers, clinical staff, and patients/visitors.
• Articulates and documents information accurately to convey patient’s questions, and concerns and ensure messages are consistent with risk management directives.
• Performs other related duties incidental to the work or as per the instructions by the Manager.
• Participates in on-call coverage to provide interpretation/translation services during non- business hours and business hours as assigned.
• Provides and maintains required documentation as required.
• Maintains positive working relationships within the department/section and between various facility departments.
• Participates in all team efforts as required and collaborating with other members of the team to carry out work smoothly.
• Provides accurate interpretation and translation of the information in direct service to physicians and/or other health care providers who are seeing patients who cannot speak or understand English, when specifically required by the provider.
• Precisely and accurately interprets information given by the provider into equivalent terminology in the patient’s native language.
• Assists in translating medical text from English on behalf of internal and external customers;
may translate patient education information as specifically requested.
• Assists with patient follow-up as necessary, including contacting patients with appointment reminders.
Accountabilities
• Evaluates whether the quality standards of nursing documentation are maintained accurately as per Organizational policy and standards.
• Ensures that quality standards of nursing documentation are maintained according to Organizational policy.
• Facilitates reporting of incidents occurring within the organization by proper coordination and facilitating corrective action taken.
• Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with the organization’s policies and standards.
• Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with all patients, customers, visitors, healthcare providers, and clinical employees
Qualifications
Experience :-
Required:
• 2-4 years of relevant experience
Desired:
• Experience in a large healthcare facility
Educational Qualification: Required:
• Diploma in Business Administration or English Language or relevant field
Desired:
• Bachelor degree in Business Administration or in English language or relevant field
