Infection Control Specialist

Job Description

Core Responsibilities: –

• Participates in preparing reports and infection surveillance rates.

• Follows up on the implementation of hospital cleanliness and hygiene regulations.

• Monitors the nursing staff regarding proper methods of medical waste disposal.

• Provides guidance and counseling to all hospital departments to prevent and eliminate hospital-acquired infections.

• Carries out surveillance of hospital-acquired infections in cooperation with the microbiologist.

• Conducts epidemiological investigations for all hospital departments in cooperation with the microbiologist to identify problems and explore solutions.

• Participates in planning infection control programs.

• Designs a reporting system for notifying and documenting infections.

• Participates in selecting infection control supplies (disinfectants, single-use items) and provides instructions for their use.

Requirements: –

• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, or Nursing

• 1–3 years of experience

• Diploma in Infection Control
