Infection Control Nurse

Job Description

Job Purpose

The Infection Control Nurse identifies, investigates, and monitors infections and hazardous conditions within the hospital. This role is responsible for executing the infection prevention and control program to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surveillance & Monitoring: Conduct routine surveillance to detect healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and compile data to identify trends.
  • Policy Implementation: Implement, review, and update hospital-wide infection control policies aligned with DHA regulations and international accreditation bodies (JCI).
  • Education & Training: Design and deliver continuous training sessions for clinical and non-clinical staff regarding hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and aseptic techniques.
  • Outbreak Management: Investigate potential outbreaks promptly and implement corrective action plans to control the spread of infectious agents.
  • Audit & Compliance: Conduct regular environmental and clinical audits across departments to ensure absolute compliance with sterile field protocols.
Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of active experience working as an Infection Control Nurse in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Licensure: Valid DHA License (Dubai Health Authority) or proof of DHA Eligibility as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certification: Active CIC Certification (Certified in Infection Control) is strictly required.
