HVAC Tradesman

Maintains, repairs, and tests the HVAC/Plant Services and physical assets of the Hospital, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Implements maintenance work orders for all work assignments and organises his resources effectively.
  • Carries out assigned duties effectively to the required quality standards.
  • Completes all reports, correspondence, Work Control documents and other assigned paperwork.
  • Organises the work and successfully manages time to complete his assignments efficiently.
  • Identifies material needs for the section and advises/updates the Team Leader/Engineer on critical items.
  • Evaluates his area continuously, and recommends proposals for improvements, new technology, efficiency benefits and system change.
  • Ensures effective use of resources at all times and identifies/follows up on the materials required for assignments.
  • Ensures to conclude assignments effectively.
  • Understands and applies confidentiality to his activities.
  • Demonstrates trade training in a wide range of cross-trade activities
  • Implements Sustainable Practices/Policies in Facilities Management’s operations.

Qualifications

  • Industrial Training Certificate

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Healthcare Organization’s maintenance department or similar institution
  • Knowledge of his specialist trade area and be able to conduct a wide range of work for other trades
  • Knowledge of codes of practice, applicable standards and engineering principles to effectively conduct his assignments
  • Knowledge of basic computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to read Engineering Drawings
