Healthpoint Hospital seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Healthcare Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality patient care across outpatient, inpatient, or community settings. The Healthcare Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional and contributes to safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in line with established clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering direct patient care, including supporting activities of daily living such as hygiene, mobility, and comfort.
- Record and monitor patient vital signs, perform point-of-care testing, and support basic clinical procedures (as trained).
- Assist healthcare professionals during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures, including specimen collection.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment and sterilization processes.
- Support accurate documentation and data entry in the electronic medical record system.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Perform basic administrative duties such as patient registration, scheduling, and maintaining stock levels.
Qualifications
- Diploma as a Healthcare Assistant or a relevant field
- 6 months on-the-job clinical placement as a student Healthcare Assistant
- Active license with relevant health authority (DOH/DHA/MOH)
- Heartsaver certification
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate medical terminology and patient status at their level.
