Kanad Hospital is hiring a Female General Surgeon with good experience in breast and thyroid surgery. Arabic fluency would be an added advantage

Requirements: 
1. Education: Board certified or MD in General Surgery as minimum
2. Duration and type of Experience: Experience of 3 years after Board with recent experience in a leadership role
3. Skills: breast and thyroid surgery
Arabic speaker will be an added advantage

Clinical Responsibilities
1. Outpatient Clinics
§ The surgeon provides general surgical care in line with his capacities, credentialing and privileges:
§ The consultant will assess surgical patients referred by other Kanad Hospital or outside physicians.
§ Medical and surgical history and physical data are obtained in surgical patients; patient records are reviewed.
§ Orders, evaluates and reviews appropriate laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures.
§ Performs diagnostic procedures as required.
§ Prepares a plan of care.
§ Admits patients to the ward as indicated.
§ Schedules cases for procedures in line with hospital policies.
§ Performs appropriate therapeutic procedures.
§ Refers patients to other or outside health care providers as indicated.
2. Inpatient Ward
§ Rounds in the ward as applicable.
§ Provides adequate directions to ward nurses regarding admitted surgical patients’ care as well as regarding surgical consultations in other patients.
§ Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care such as administering sedatives, prescribing diets, and preparing operative area of patients.
3. Operating Room
§ Performs appropriate surgical procedures as credentialed and treats patients with postoperative complications.
§ Directs OR nursing staff in regard to procedure-related performance.
§ Adheres to OR policies.
4. Endoscopy Suite
Performs upper and lower GI diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, uses conscious sedation in accordance with hospital guidelines and directs nursing staff in these procedures.

Qualification

Female candidates ONLY. Arabic would be a great plus
Education: Board certified or MD in General Surgery 
License – DOH/DHA licensed or DOH passer or DOH exam exempted preferred
Experience with breast and Thyroid surgery preferred
