Healthpoint, part of the M42 healthcare network, is seeking a General Practitioner / Hospitalist to provide comprehensive inpatient care with a strong focus on surgical ward coverage and hospitalist services. The role involves managing admitted patients, supporting surgical teams, and ensuring continuity of care across the patient journey in line with clinical best practices and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day medical care for admitted patients in surgical and medical wards.
  • Support surgical teams in pre‑operative and post‑operative patient management.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds, assess patient progress, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  • Respond to inpatient consultations and manage acute clinical conditions.
  • Ensure timely documentation of patient care, discharge summaries, and clinical notes.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, nurses, ICU, and allied health professionals.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and provide coverage as required.
  • Ensure adherence to DOH regulations, hospital policies, and patient safety standards.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of internship and relevant clinical training.
  • Valid DOH license or eligibility as a General Practitioner.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of clinical experience, preferably in hospitalist settings or surgical wards.
  • Experience in managing inpatients, particularly surgical cases, is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and patient management skills.
