The Dental Assistant is responsible for providing assistance in examining, evaluating and performing dental and surgical procedures on patients in line with M42 and DOH/DHA policies, procedures, guidelines and standards. The incumbent is also responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of dental instruments used in adherence with the infection control protocols and ensuring sufficient amount of dental supplies available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside assistance to dentists during examinations, treatments, and specialized dental procedures, ensuring the delivery of safe and high-quality patient care.
  • Prepare, clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and clinical areas in accordance with infection prevention and control standards.
  • Ensure treatment rooms are fully prepared before patient appointments and efficiently restored following procedures.
  • Support patient preparation and provide appropriate pre- and post-treatment guidance to enhance the patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, clinical documentation, and appointment information in compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to M42, DOH, and applicable healthcare quality, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate efficient patient flow by coordinating with clinicians and administrative teams to support seamless clinic operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with dentists and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care and achieve clinical excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery, Nursing, or a Diploma in Dental Assisting, Dental Nursing, Dental Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Valid DOH/MOH/DHA license as Dental Assistant or eligibility to get one.
  • Relevant clinical experience in a dental healthcare setting (where applicable).
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and fluency in English.
