Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women’s and children’s hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women’s Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.
Danat Al Emarat Hospital is seeking a Consultant in Pediatrics to join its highly specialized women’s and children’s healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering advanced, patient-centered pediatric care across inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring excellence in clinical outcomes while supporting the hospital’s commitment to family-focused care.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive pediatric care across outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, and, where applicable, neonatal or pediatric units.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic pediatric conditions in line with international best practices.
- Lead clinical decision-making and ensure high standards of patient safety and quality of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including neonatology, obstetrics, and pediatric subspecialties, to ensure integrated care pathways.
- Participate in on-call coverage as required.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support teaching and mentorship of junior medical staff and contribute to ongoing medical education.
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in line with DOH and hospital standards.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree with specialization in Pediatrics.
- Western Board Certification (CCT/CCST, American Board, Canadian, Australian) or equivalent Tier 1 qualification preferred.
- Existing DOH License or Eligibility as Consultant Pediatrics.
- Minimum 8-10 years of clinical experience, including significant experience at Consultant level.
- Proven expertise in managing complex pediatric cases within a hospital setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
