Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide comprehensive management of critically ill neonates, infants, children and adolescents in the PICU.
- Manage complex pediatric medical and surgical cases, including respiratory failure, sepsis, shock and multi-organ dysfunction.
- Expertise in mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, airway management and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Perform and supervise relevant pediatric critical care procedures and emergency interventions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, resuscitation and clinical decision-making.
- Collaborate with Pediatric Surgery, Cardiology, Anesthesia and other specialties.
- Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching and supervision of junior doctors
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree with a recognized postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics.
- Recognized Fellowship/Board Certification in Pediatric Critical Care/Pediatric Intensive Care or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Relevant post-specialization experience in Pediatric Critical Care/PICU, meeting DHA PQR Consultant requirements.
- 8-10 years experience in a tertiary-care hospital or high-volume PICU is preferred.
- Excellent clinical judgment, communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Strong independent experience managing complex PICU cases and critically ill pediatric patients.
- DHA License / DHA Eligibility as Consultant Pediatric Critical Care essential.
