A Spine Neurosurgeon is responsible for diagnosing and surgically treating disorders affecting the spine, spinal cord, and nervous system. This role involves performing complex surgical procedures, managing patient care before and after surgery, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with spinal disorders (e.g., degenerative diseases, trauma, tumors, infections).
- Perform advanced surgical procedures such as:
- Spinal decompression
- Spinal fusion
- Minimally invasive spine surgery
- Develop individualized treatment plans, including non-surgical and surgical options.
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care and follow-up.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging (MRI, CT scans, X-rays).
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, pain specialists, and rehabilitation teams.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Stay updated with advancements in neurosurgical techniques and technologies.
- Participate in clinical audits, research, and continuous medical education.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent).
- Completion of residency in Neurosurgery.
- Fellowship training in Spine Surgery (preferred).
- Valid medical license (e.g., DOH/DHA)
- Board certification in Neurosurgery.
- Proven experience in spine-related surgical procedures.
- Strong knowledge of neuroanatomy and spinal conditions.
