Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH) is seeking an experienced Consultant Neurologist to join its growing multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive neurological care across inpatient and outpatient settings, managing a wide range of neurological disorders while delivering exceptional patient-centered care. The Consultant will play a key role in advancing neurological services, supporting clinical excellence, and contributing to education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of neurological disorders, including stroke, epilepsy, headache disorders, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular diseases, dementia, and neurodegenerative conditions.
- Provide expert neurological consultations for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department referrals.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and monitor patient outcomes.
- Interpret and integrate neurological investigations, including EEG, EMG/NCS, neuroimaging, and laboratory results.
- Participate in acute stroke management and multidisciplinary care pathways.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, surgeons, rehabilitation specialists, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform specialized neurological procedures relevant to training and expertise.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and patient safety programs.
- Contribute to the education and mentorship of junior physicians, medical students, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Participate in research activities and support the advancement of evidence-based neurological practice.
- Provide on-call coverage as required by the department.
Qualifications
- Medical Degree (MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- Tier 1 qualification in Neurology recognized by the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
- Completion of accredited specialty training in Neurology.
- Eligibility for Consultant licensure with the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
- Significant post-specialty experience as a Consultant Neurologist in a reputable healthcare institution.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex neurological conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Strong commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Experience in teaching, research, and quality improvement activities is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
