Consultant Intensivist (Adult)

Job Description

Position Overview:

To provide a comprehensive ICU service for King’s College Hospital-Dubai. The post holder will be responsible for:
Manage of medical and surgical patients’ admissions and discharges on the Intensive Care Unit and High Dependency Unit including the support and management of patients coming through the Emergency Department or operating theatres.
Take part in multidisciplinary team meetings regarding the management of patients on the ICU/HDU or other patients in the hospital who require critical care input
Being part of the critical care outreach team to identify patients who may require admission or those who have been recently discharged.
Initiating advancement of both clinical care and governance structures on the unit.

Clinical

Provide an expert opinion and manage patients who attend King’s College Hospital-Dubai requiring ICU support.
To provide critical care management of patients according to established standards of best practice.
To provide a safe critical care management.
Comply with the established King’s College Hospital-Dubai practices.
Comply with the requirements of the regulatory UAE medical health authorities with respect to all professional practices.

Qualifications

Recognized Medical Degree – Essential
Fellow Faculty of ICM UK Fellow Australia/New Zealand College of ICM, American board of pulmonology/critical care or European Diploma of Intensive Care – Essential
Higher Academic qualifications – Desirable
Licensed or eligible for DHA License as a consultant in critical care medicine – Essential
Completed training programme in UK, Australia/New Zealand or USA – Essential

Experiences

Broad experience in Intensive Care Medicine Organ donation and Transplant Critical Care skills – Essential
ECMO skills and POCUS – Desirable

Training Courses:

BLS,ACLS/ALS, ATLS, PALS/EPALS – Essential
Evidence of critical care courses – Desirable

Information Technology

Basic IT skills/ Ability to deal with hospital management systems – Essential
Advanced skills/Certification in IT/ Statistics/ ICU data collection – Desirable

Languages

Excellent Fluency and command of English Language both verbal and written – Essential
