Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital is seeking a Part-time Consultant in Infectious Disease to provide expert clinical input across inpatient and outpatient services. The role focuses on the diagnosis, management, and prevention of complex infectious diseases, supporting clinical teams through evidence-based practice, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection control within an acute hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation for patients with complex or high-risk infectious diseases
- Manage inpatient and outpatient Infectious Disease services on a part-time basis
- Support antimicrobial stewardship programs and optimize antibiotic utilization
- Advise on infection prevention and control policies and practices
- Collaborate closely with medical, surgical, critical care, and microbiology teams
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical audits, and quality initiatives
- Contribute to staff education, training, and clinical governance activities
- Ensure compliance with DOH regulations, hospital policies, and international best practices
Qualifications
- Medical degree from a recognized institution
- Completion of accredited specialty training in Infectious Diseases
- Board certification (e.g., Western Board, UK CCT/CCST, European Board, or equivalent)
- Eligibility for DOH Abu Dhabi Consultant licensure
- Demonstrated experience managing complex infectious disease cases in hospital settings
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a part-time clinical capacity
