Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Clinical Pharmacist role based at Muscat Private Hospital in Muscat, Oman. The Clinical Pharmacist will provide evidence-based pharmaceutical care, including reviewing and verifying medication orders, assessing appropriateness of therapy, and preventing medication errors. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with physicians and nurses on treatment plans, participating in clinical rounds, monitoring patient responses to therapy, and adjusting medications as needed. The role also involves counseling patients and families on safe medication use, dosage, side effects, and adherence strategies. Additional tasks include contributing to formulary management, supporting antibiotic stewardship and other clinical programs, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards, and participating in staff education and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong clinical pharmacy skills, including medication review, therapeutic drug monitoring, and application of evidence-based guidelines.
• Candidates should possess skills in patient counseling, clear written and verbal communication, and effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
• Candidates should possess skills in medication safety, adverse drug reaction reporting, and adherence to hospital and regulatory protocols.
• Candidates should possess skills in using hospital information systems, electronic prescribing tools, and maintaining accurate pharmacy documentation.
• Candidates should hold a Pharmacy degree (BPharm, PharmD, or equivalent) and appropriate professional registration or eligibility for registration in Oman.
• Candidates should have prior experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy setting; experience in tertiary care or cardiovascular services is an advantage.
• Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety and ethical practice.
• Candidates with post-graduate clinical pharmacy training, relevant certifications, and experience in antimicrobial stewardship or oncology pharmacy will be considered favorably.
