Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

• Complete initial assessment of new patients’ nutritional and dietetic needs within 7 days of first treatment.

• Complete reassessment of each patient at least once every 30 days and more frequently if the patient’s needs

dictate.

• Recommend therapeutic diets in consideration of cultural preferences and changes in treatment based on the

patient’s nutritional needs in consultation with the patient’s Physician.

• Counsel patients and families on prescribed diets and monitor adherence and response to diets.

• Assist patients in obtaining dietary supplements as appropriate.

• Participate with other multidisciplinary team members in developing patient care plans and developing goals for

patient dietary care management.

• Participate with other multidisciplinary team members in developing the long-term care plan for individual

patients.

• Lead continuous quality improvement activities related to nutrition and indicators

• Communicate results of patient assessment, reassessment, and ongoing monitoring to the physician, team

members, and others as appropriate to the patient’s individual needs.

• Provide patient education as appropriate to the patient’s needs.

• Participate in patient care conferences as directed by the Director of Clinical Services and the Regional

Operations Director.

• Maintain current progress notes for all patients in compliance with End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) regulations.

• Participate in the company’s performance improvement efforts.

• Comply with organization policies and procedures.

• Participate in staff meetings as required.

• Attend in-service and continuing education offerings in compliance with company policy and procedure.

• Make home visits as company regulations or the Ministry of Health require.

• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Dietitian or Nutrition.

Experience Requirements:

One (1) year experience in a clinical dietitian or nutrition role, preferably in a dialysis or hospital setting.

Other Requirements:

Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure is required.

Certified in BLS from Saudi or American Heart Association.
