Job Description
The Diet Technician supports food service operations and patient nutrition by ensuring meal quality, safety, and compliance with dietary requirements, while contributing to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Food Service & Patient Support
• Monitor food service operations, meal quality, and diet compliance.
• Supervise tray line services and special meals as per diet orders.
• Conduct meal rounds and address food-related patient concerns.
• Support menu implementation, production sheets, and food quality checks.
Education & Training
• Support orientation and basic nutrition training for food service staff.
• Assist in training kitchen staff on recipes and nutrition standards.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hospital policies, and dietary standards.
• Participate in inspections, audits, and quality improvement activities.
• Collect patient feedback related to food services when required.
Requirements
Essential Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, Food Science, or Dietetics.
• Valid SCFHS as Diet Technician, and Balady Health Certificate.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a healthcare food service setting.
Preferred
• HACCP certification.
• Experience in hospital or clinical food services.
