Job Description

Charge Nurse.Endoscopy.Nursing Services.Aster Hospital, Al Qusais (Br. Of Aster DM Healthcare FZC)

. Manage department in the absence of head nurse and responsibly escalate concerns reporting head/Nursing Supervisor/ACNO

· Serves as a member of the direct patient care team and leads the nursing team in gaining exceptional skills to provide evidence based comprehensive nursing care

· Ensure the clinical area has appropriate number of staff and skill mix for the dependency level of the patients.

· Ensure staff awareness and delivery of care based on current best practices.

· Ensure patient and family education is given to all patients.

· Ensure the implementation of all accreditation standards

· Meet daily all patients and frequently meet HWC, VIP, vulnerable, pre & post-op, new admission and critically ill patients and ensure appropriate and timely care.

· Organize and coordinate patient care activities including procedures, therapies and tests to achieve desired patient outcome.

· Play an active role in counter checking medication administration process, nursing procedure, transportation of special specimens / samples.

· Ensure availability of adequate manpower, materials, equipment and supplies

· Ensure that all equipments, furniture and fittings are available

· Actively participate in staff meetings, relevant committees, debriefing session, meeting with Nursing Leadership etc… and update staff about any policy changes or developments in the hospital.

· Be the first line of reporting for staff and patient concerns

· Recognize own limitations, seeks advice when unable to solve conflict / problems.

· Ensure effective and efficient use of all department resources.

· Maintain proper discipline among the staff by following the hospital’s disciplinary policy.

· Ensure that all staff are aware of the importance of the collection of statistical data.

· Report all incidents to the Head of the Dept. and ensure documents are completed.
