Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for the processing, screening, and reporting of gynecological and non-gynecological cytology specimens, supporting clinicians during FNA procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and diagnostic accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen and evaluate Pap smears and non-gynecological cytology specimens
  • Process, stain, mount, and label cytology samples
  • Assist clinicians and radiologists during Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) procedures
  • Perform quality control checks and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Document and communicate results using laboratory information systems
  • Support inventory management and laboratory operations
  • Mentor and support junior cytology staff
  • Ensure compliance with DHA, JCIA, and laboratory quality standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; Master’s Degree in Cytology highly preferred
  • DHA License as a Cytotechnologist or Cytoscreener is required
  • Minimum 2 years of cytology screening experience post qualification
  • Experience in both gynecological and non-gynecological cytology preferred
  • FNA assessment experience is advantageous
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
