Job Description
In this role, you will be responsible for the processing, screening, and reporting of gynecological and non-gynecological cytology specimens, supporting clinicians during FNA procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and diagnostic accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen and evaluate Pap smears and non-gynecological cytology specimens
- Process, stain, mount, and label cytology samples
- Assist clinicians and radiologists during Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) procedures
- Perform quality control checks and maintain laboratory equipment
- Document and communicate results using laboratory information systems
- Support inventory management and laboratory operations
- Mentor and support junior cytology staff
- Ensure compliance with DHA, JCIA, and laboratory quality standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology; Master’s Degree in Cytology highly preferred
- DHA License as a Cytotechnologist or Cytoscreener is required
- Minimum 2 years of cytology screening experience post qualification
- Experience in both gynecological and non-gynecological cytology preferred
- FNA assessment experience is advantageous
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
