Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.
- Perform electrical safety checks on dialysis machines and related equipment.
- Collect samples of RO water and dialysate for microbiology testing according to protocol.
- Collect water samples for AAMI analysis testing according to protocol.
- Perform and document safety checks, disinfection, and calibration of dialysis and water treatment equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
- Implement disinfection of the RO system, distribution system, hemodialysis machines, central bicarbonate system, and mixing tank according to protocol.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Repair, calibrate, test, clean, and disinfect dialysis machines, water distribution loops, and ROs according to protocol.
- Maintain established preventative maintenance programs and required support documentation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records for the facility’s equipment.
- Ensure all contracts and contacts are ready for the emergency repair of the clinic’s equipment and mechanical systems.
- Assist with purchasing as needed: place orders and perform weekly and month-end inventory counts.
- Prepare the bicarbonate solution according to the protocol. Prepare the acid concentrate solution according to the protocol.
- Address physical environment issues that could impact patient and staff safety.
- Procure quotes from reputable and approved contractors to address issues related to the physical environment.
- Provide education through comprehensive instruction manuals and ensure equipment operation adheres to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Complete initial and annual technical training on clinical staff as required.
- Perform in-service training and instruct clinical staff in the use and care of equipment and answer questions.

- Address inquiries or concerns effectively.
- Participate in staff meetings as required. Attend in-service and continuing education offerings in compliance with company policy and procedure.
- Present technical summaries in QAPI meetings.
- Perform duties as assigned to meet the clinic’s patient care or operational needs.
- Carry out responsibilities at all times within the limitations established by USRC company policy, procedures, and Saudi laws and regulations.
- Acquaint with all emergency equipment and emergency operational procedures.
- Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications Requirements:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related field is required.
Experience Requirements:
Three (3) years of experience in biomedical engineering, preferably in a dialysis or hospital setting.
Other Requirements:
Certified accredited member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.
Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure as Biomedical Engineering – Medical Devices Specialist.
Passed color vision or color blindness test.
