ob Purpose:  

 To ensure the safe administration of anesthesia and sedation, provide effective pain management, and support  the perioperative care of patients undergoing medical and surgical procedures.  

Key Responsibilities and Duties:   

  1. Administers anesthesia using various techniques (e.g., general anesthesia, local, neuraxial, or ultrasound guided nerve blocks) tailored to patient needs and as per assigned clinical privileges. 
  2. Performs Pre-anesthesia and pre-induction assessments for patients planned for anesthesia. Monitors  patients before, during, and after procedures to manage pain and maintain stable vital signs. 
  3. Responds to and manage adverse reactions or complications related to anesthesia.  
  4. Maintains accurate documentation of anesthesia administration, including medication types, dosages, and  patient responses. 
  5. Assess patient risk by reviewing medical histories, conducting examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests  when necessary. 
  6. Collaborates with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to determine optimal  anesthesia plans. 
  7. Provides airway management and life support during anesthesia and sedation.  
  8. Supervises recovery post-anesthesia and determines readiness for patient discharge from PACU.  
  9. Guides and oversees residents, technicians, nurses, and support staff in anesthesia-related tasks.  
  10. Oversees the duties of residents, technicians, nurses and other healthcare support staff.  
  11. Educates patients and families about post-procedure care, potential complications, and preventive health  strategies. 
  12. Participates in teaching activities, departmental rounds, and educational initiatives as requested.  
  13. Participates in departmental meetings and contribute to scientific and educational activities.  
  14.  Ensures adherence to safety and quality protocols in line with organizational standards.  
  15. Be competent in advanced monitoring, sedation techniques, pharmacology, response to emergencies,  managing complications and recovery protocols.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:  

  • Must be able to clearly communicate with patients and their families, physician  and non-medical staff. – Must be able to effectively present information to public group and Fakeeh Care  top management. 
  • Should possess good organization skills and be able to work under stressful  situations. 
  • Good computer skills. 

Experience:

 Completion of the required years of experience according to the  regional health regulatory authority in recognized medical centers.

Education:

Completion of structured training in Anesthesia or sub-specialty at a  recognized medical center, and obtaining the highest professional degree in  anesthesia by that medical center, with recognition from the regional health  regulatory authority. 

Language:

Excellent oral and written English skills; Arabic proficiency preferred.

Licenses / Certifications: 

Valid practice license from a regional health regulatory authority (e.g., SCFHS/DHA).  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and advanced licenses, if applicable.
