I am Dr. Muhammad Ismail, currently serving as a Senior Registrar in Cardiology at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Karachi. I bring over 8 years of clinical experience in cardiology, including 2 years at the senior registrar level.
I have recently passed the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) licensing exam and am officially classified and licensed as a Senior Registrar in Adult Cardiology. My documentation is complete, including DataFlow, Mumaris Plus, and Mosaadaqa.
My clinical background includes expertise in cardiac diagnostics (TTE, ETT), critical care, and preventive cardiology. I lead outpatient clinics such as the Cardiac Risk Assessment Clinic, Cardiometabolic Clinic, and Smoking Cessation Clinic, and manage both inpatient care and CCU responsibilities.

A structured postgraduate fellowship program focused on developing competent adult cardiologists. Training includes hands-on clinical exposure in non-invasive cardiology, critical care, and advanced diagnostics. Rotations covered: • Echocardiography (TTE & TEE) • Cardiac Cath Lab • ETT & Stress Testing • CCU & Critical Care • Nuclear Cardiology • CT Angiography • Cardiac Surgery • Electrophysiology • Outpatient & Preventive Cardiology • Emergency & Pediatric Cardiology (elective) The program also includes academic modules, journal clubs, research, and concludes with a comprehensive examination by CPSP.
Work & Experience
Adult Cardiology is a medical specialty focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of cardiovascular diseases in adults. It encompasses the evaluation of conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and cardiomyopathies. The field involves both inpatient and outpatient care, with diagnostic expertise in echocardiography (TTE/TEE), ECG, stress testing (ETT), and cardiac imaging. Adult cardiologists also manage acute cardiac conditions in critical care settings (CCU) and lead preventive cardiology initiatives to reduce risk factors and improve heart health outcomes.
