The Head of the Department of Medical Laboratories is a senior academic and administrative leader responsible for overseeing the department’s teaching, research, and clinical service activities. This role includes strategic planning, curriculum development, faculty recruitment, and ensuring academic quality in accordance with national and international standards. The head also facilitates research collaborations, promotes innovation in diagnostic laboratory sciences, and ensures alignment with healthcare needs.

In addition to managing departmental operations, the head serves as a liaison between the department and the hospital professinal doctor team, faculty dean, university leadership, and external institutions such as hospitals, accreditation bodies, and research centers.
