K ey Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Carries out routine radiographic examinations in line with the policies and procedures of the department.
  • Assists in carrying out specialized radiologic procedures under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Responsible for correct identification of patients and site of exposure before each examination.
  • Responsible for final reminder of female patients or female companion for the possibility of being pregnant

or not.

  • Removes all radio-opaque materials from patient or table that could interfere with radiographic image.
  • Verifies accuracy of film identification.
  • Do aseptic technique before doing procedures.
  • Prepares contrast agent for administration.
  • Documents required information on patient log book.
  • Evaluates radiographs for diagnostic quality.
  • Prepares and adjusts radiographic unit and accessories.
  • Evaluates the need for use protective shielding and take appropriate precautions to minimize radiation

exposure to patients and visitors & staff.

  • Inspects all equipment’s under his or her control on a regular daily basis and ensures that the equipment is

kept clean and ready at all times. Reports all deficiencies to Radiology Manager.

  • Never give medical diagnostic opinion to anybody about examinations which he or she may have carried out

or assisted in carrying out.

  • Participates in orientation and in-service educational program of the department.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job

Requirements

Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to clearly communicate with physicians, non-medical staff, patients and their families

Experience

Must be in continuous good radiological practice and should hold at least 2 years’ post-diploma experience.

Licenses / Certifications

License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS /

DHA),
