The Specialist, Internal Medicine is responsible for providing comprehensive, evidence-based medical care to adult patients across inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings. The role involves the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions while ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic, patient-centered care in alignment with Amana Healthcare’s clinical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions in adult patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor clinical progress.
  • Manage patients with complex chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease,
  • respiratory disorders, and other internal medicine conditions.
  • Provide specialized medical care for patients in rehabilitation, long-term care, and post-acute care settings.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, allied health professionals, nursing teams, and rehabilitation staff to ensure
  • seamless patient management.
  • Review and interpret laboratory investigations, imaging studies, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide preventative healthcare recommendations and patient education to promote overall wellbeing.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and acute clinical deteriorations as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in clinical governance, audits, peer review activities, and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a recognized residency training program in Internal Medicine.
  • Specialist qualification recognized by the Department of Health (DOH), Abu Dhabi.
  • Eligibility for or possession of a valid DOH License as Specialist Internal Medicine.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of post-specialization experience in Internal Medicine.
  • Strong experience in managing complex medical conditions and chronic disease management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care.
